Well, gang, as we begin Extravaganza 2013 take a gander at this year's final
flow report, and what a difference a handful of years make. The final flow
tipped in at 638 cubic feet per second and, get this, the ending flow for
2013 was 23% of what it was in 2008; 34% of what it was in 2009; 26% of what
it was in 2010; 17% of what it was in 2011; and is just 38% of last year's
20 year average flow.
Coupled with heat that is now approaching 90 degree daytime highs, it is,
indeed, a hot time on the water, gang, with weather for the Ones being that
like it normally is for the threes--clear skies in the morning with
afternoon thunderheads and accompanying showers/downpours.
With such a wide year-to-year variance in flowage and temperatures, that is
why we fish the Extravaganza when we do, as this year, as we have done in
EACH of the last ten years, we have fished and will fish every single
Extravaganza fishing day!!
For updates on how the fishing is, shortly I will be posting the fishing
report for Group One's Day One, the only source for which is now (y)our
blot, www.montanaextravaganza2013.blogspot.com . Toggle on over and check
the action out!!
Best to all from the scene of it all,
Rock Creek Ron
