Soon to be winging and wheeling their way to Extravaganzaland will be the Mighty Threes who, unlike the WTF Ones and the Tattoos are soul searching for their permanent Montana banner…hmm, maybe that task will be accomplished during there stay here where, get this, temperatures are projected to soar into the high 90’s!!
Leading the pack is long in the fin eight time returnee Ladd “Da Litigator” Bedford who was originally scheduled to fish with his bride of now 30 years “Missouri Kristine” but, alas, while celebrating their third decadal anniversary in Carmel three weeks ago Kristine took a tumble, broke her leg and, sadly, will staying home in the Bay Area be following the activity via Der Blog—we will miss you my dear and will play for the soon-to-be assembled multitude the E-08 Extravaganza movie in which you so beautifully starred. Speaking of “long in the fin”, my Group Three horseshoe partner crack MechBank banker Scott “Crack” McAdams will also be coming back to his Extravaganza home, he of six prior Extravaganzas and having earned his moniker not from his banking prowess but, rather, from the failure to wear undershorts with the fishing pants I bestowed upon him years ago!
Also returning to the Threes, from Houston, are three-time Extravaganzer Martin “Madman” O’Malley, this time with his last year rookie Cynthia “Cindy” Day Stratton—it will be great to have you both back and your master suite at the bunkhouse is already made up and awaiting your day-early Friday arrival!!--, Richmond attorney Josh “B’Gosh” Genser for his third journey here who will be fishing with Vallejo cpa and business appraiser Rodger “Dr. Schuester” (likewise a three time returnee to these here parts!), now (finally!) past Montana Wildlife President Tim “Four More Years” Aldrich and his beautiful wife Carol, and my brother Kers “Walter” Clausen who brings with him his sailing buddies veteran Kjeld “Cal” Hestehave and rookies Bob “Motor Home” Branstad & Scott “Augmented” Gordon (the latter getting the E-13 award for the most attentive and responsive blog and email reader!).
I am blessed to have two of my three children back among Dem Threes (all there were here last year together with my three grandkids!), L.A. sound engineer Tyler “Lefty” Clausen and his good lookin’ sister Trina “Boots” Clausen, the latter of whom is soon to begin her first year of law school at Missoula’s University of Montana.
And that leaves a gaggle of four (count ‘em!) financial planner rookies, each of whom will be arriving here on Saturday not only in search of the boatload of fish that the Tattoos landed but, also, in search of their Montana nicknames. Haling from Denver in that regard are Jim Brubaker and Ron Naff to be joined by Bay Area already-Blog-featured fisherman Chuck Ballweg and Orange County’s own Bill Black. Good luck in advance, gentlemen (a word not oft used around here), as Montana’s glorious flora, fauna and fins anxiously await your arrivals in now less that 48 hours!!
Bring it on, Threes, for there’s a-gonna be a hot time in the old Extravaganzaland anon!!
Best to all in anticipation for the third act of it all,
Rock creek Ron
